Sindile Nontando Thobela, born and raised in Nelspruit, is the founder and managing director of Thobela | Thobela Inc. Attorneys, established in January 2020. A Cum Laude graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, she specializes in complex civil litigation, third-party claims, medical negligence, wills administration, and criminal matters.She gained experience clerking at a law clinic and later worked as an article clerk for Mabaso Attorneys before joining QQ Mkhatshwa Attorneys as an admitted attorney. As a young black female attorney, she has had to overcome systemic barriers in the legal field, including racial and gender biases, lack of transformation, and financial constraints.
Thobela highlights the underrepresentation of black female attorneys in South Africa, noting that they make up only 15% of female attorneys, translating to just 3,604 nationwide. She remains committed to breaking barriers and earning respect in the legal profession
